The work of excavation prepa

church' w progressing .very - rapidly,
and soon the o.y of “more mort" will
resound through the heavy foliage of
the stately trees, which surround tbe
site. The reporter visited the place
yesterday morning and was sho wn the
plans of the bui'dingi which were
made by Mr. Wm. Miller, the well
known architect and' builder. The
building wiii be set back thirty feet
from the sidewalk on both Broad and
Washington streets in order that the
large and beautiful oaks can be a!

building will Contain, besides tbe main
audi0r.ee room, which will be (50x60
feet,-a lecture room 37x50, the pas
tor’s study and a large class room.
It is so arranged that when tho church
is crowded tho sliding partition which
separates the church proper, from the
lecture room can be pushed aside
thus throwing the qrqc apartpn^nts
into one room and greatly increasing
tho seating capacity. The church
will face both afreets. The entrances
to'the audience-room wilt lie on Broad
street, but the lecture room entrance
will be on Washington street. The
tower will he on the corner, through
which will be the main entrance.
The pulpit will be located in the op
posite corner, just diagonally Across
the room from and facing tbe en
trance. The seats will be raised and
plaoed in tbe- roora after tbe style of
those in the Presbyterian church.
