The Valdosta Times has the fol-
I lowing account of the game played
there Saturday, between the local
High School boys and the Valdosta
High School team:
"In one of the fastest games of
the season, Saturday, the Valdosta
High School downed the Thomasville
High School by the score of 12 to
7.
The pitching df Jones for V. H. S. |
was one of the big features of the
game, but four hits were secured off
him and he walked only one.
Cooper, for Thomasville, pitched
a fair game, but at times received
ragged su-pport.
Whitaker, in the third, while slip
ping for home, after getting a two-
bagger, wrenched his knee and was
replaced by Saunders In center.
As the fifth inning starter, Jupi
ter Pluvius looked as though he’d
take possession of the da>, conse
quently Valdosta’s coach gave the
order for the men to strike out, as
V. H. S. was already ahead, and
thus hasten the end of .the inning,
as at the close of that it would be
counted a game. Later on the cun
tried to come out and the fine
drizzle, which had fallen almost all
the afternoon, finally stopped.
Thomasville scored in the very
first inning, but in the third Val
dosta secured three runs. Then
Thomasville, in their half, tied up
the score. In the very next inning.

peas were picked, that being the
average picking for several days
