Miss Zalemma Jackson Weldon

1915. Her death was not unex

the inevitable end came. Although
everything that medical science and

grew weaker until she peacefully

"Lemma," as she was known by
her intimate friends, was born at
Covington, Newton County, Ga., on
the 30th day of December, 1848.
She therefore died in her i»Mh year.
During all of her sickntss. she of

Atlanta, Dec. 8.—The annual
pathetic farce, entitled ‘‘The Shop

again this season tn Atlanta, with
the hope of taking some of the
terrible Christmas strain off the
shoulders of the shop girl.
No movement ever had a worth
ier or more practical object, and
none has ever been more utterly fu
tile than this has been In past years.
The newspapers give unlimited
space to strong editorials, cartoons
and news articles, urging people to
shop early; the stores set forth In
telligently the practical advantages
of so doing; the picture of the
working girl a worn out, nervous
wreck on Christmas Eve. when all
the rest of the world Is rejoicing, Is
drawn over and over again, with a
realism that Is not one whit over-
exaggerated—and this year, the
