AUE EARLY PRIMARY AND OOUN-
TY POLITICS.
The action of the mass meeting
at the Court House Saturday, in se
eding May sixteenth as the date
for the county primary, doubtless
males as a surprise to the people of
the county who possibly had the
'den that iUwould be held, as in for-
■ner years, on the same day as the
State primary.
It has been the means of stirring
up all prospective candidates, and
from now on, there is likely to he
quite heavy and unceasing cans-
vaigns by the aspirants for office to
serve for the next four years. The
selection of this date is not amiss In
that it serves to shorten the cam*
aign for the county, and separates
:hr elections sufficiently to allow a
•apld count and to prevent the mix
ing of state and county politics in
virions elections.
The two months left until the
election are going to be busy ones,
and the people will eagerly watch
the newspapers for news as well as
view of the campaign. It is not the
purpose of The Tlmes-Enterprlse to
give views, but to present as clearly
and concisely as possible the news
of the campaign. We do not take
ddes In county campaigns and we
believe that It is best for all con
cerned that the candidates are al
lowed to run their course without
cither the assistance or opposition
of newspapers.
Campaign matter will be accepted
as usual but It will lie on a strictly
paid basis and there twill be no va
riation from the established rate. It
is reasonable, and. at the same time,
acts as a preventative for unseemly
and compromising controversies
which have been noted in so many
sectionB during county campaigns.
We hope to be free of that, but If
It comes, it will be on a paid basis.
Many candidates will use the news
papers to reach the people and as
such It performs a, function that Is
much more leasable and reasona
ble than any other method that
could possibly be found.
Small kindnesses, small cowrie
sles, small considerations, habitually
practiced In our dally Intercourse,
gives a greater charm to character
than the display of great talent, ac
complishments and show.

Miss Anna Held (don’t think she

Dear Ed: When you printed
“Forget It,” you omitted what
think Is the finest verse of the .whole
outfit. I have had It hanging In
my office, framed, for several years,
and It Is as follows:
"If you know of a thing that will
darken the joy.
Of a man or a woman, a girl or a
boy—
That will wipe out a smile or the
least way annoy—
It’s a pretty good plan to forget It,
"CONSTANT READER."
RUN DOWN WOMEN

Thomasville women will please
realize that we mean just what we
say in the above heading. Letters
like the following prove the effi

'For the benefit of the other
tired women. I want to say that
I keep house for seven in my fam

any life In me and looked badly. I
read so much about Vlnol 1 decid

helped mo In every way. It built
t ie up, so 1 felt like a new woman,
and my friends said they could see
a grant change in me.” Mrs. John
