Editors Desk...... ....12 ....66 The department of agriculture has had under consideration . for aome time the application of the federal food and drug act to the shipment of interstate commerce of eggs in the shell, especially the two classes of eggs known in the ttaee as “cur rent receipts," and as “rejects." from candling rooms. “Current receipts'' contain at dif ferent seasons of the year varying proportions of eggs which are filthy, decomposed, or putrid. “Rejects"' from candling rooms, ns a rule, con tain large proportions of eggs which are filthy, decomposed or putrid, and very small proportion of eggs suita ble for consumption. Under the federal food and drug tions of the State, culled and daa- stfled ad as to make the finest show ing possible for the whole state. During the five years the cars will be touring the country, north and west, new samples will he added from time to time, old ones discard ed, and the whole show continuous ly Improved.
