BURGLARS GET DIG SENTENCE
Atlanta, Nov. 5.—The extreme
penalty of the law, twenty years in
the penitentiary, was meted out to
two negro burglars by Judge Ben
H. Hill, of the Superior court yes
terday. The men were 3am Read
and Oscar Wright, and they were
found guilty of holding up, assault
ing and robbing Attorney Frank A.
Hooper.
Mr. Hooper, who is widely known
because of his connection with the
prosecution in the Frank case, was
the principal witness against the ne
groes. He told how lie was knocked
.down and beaten with brass knucks
by his assailants and left uncon
scious. The arrests were made by
city detectives as the result of find
