dwellers in the North and the dwellers
in the South have the same blood, and
that no finer exists. It would be mor
ally impossible that a struggle main-,
tained with such terrible .tenacity
should fail to infuse, respect, into the
soul of each adversary, or that such
respect should not manifest itself so
soon as the struggle should close and
its hot passions pass away.
The present moderation and’ deco
rum observed between the North and
South will.gradually change into war
mer manifestations of friendship, ’ if
that class of politicians, who can live i

young, man, named Wm. Russelh who
hi company with a female companion,

to evade his. pursuit. For three years
past Russell has served bis country as
a quartermaster's clerk in Louisville,
lie sealed his devotion by absconding, .
it is charged, with 820,000 of govern
ment funds. Detective Gallagher star
ted in pursuit of him, and ester track
ing him from point, to point in the
Western Statos, finally came upon
him, as before mentioned, minis city.
