[Extract from the ‘United Elates Internal
Revenue Lairs.]-
BY the eleventh section of the act of Jun
30, 1864, it is made the duty of any per
son made liable to annual tax, ono.r before the
first Monday, of ‘May in each year, to make a
list or return to the assistant Assessor of the
.district where located, of the articles charged
. with special duty er tax, '.including income and
articles in schedule A-
Every person failing to make such return by
the day specified will he liable to he assessed
by thu assistant Assessor, according to ‘th
best information .which he can obtain ; and m
-such case the. assistant Assessor-will add 25
(twenty-five) per cent- to the amount-of the
tax.
Those who ha.ve no income.tax to assess are
> required to make affidavit to that efieet. .
Guardians and Trustees, whether such by
•virtue of their uliice as executor, Administra
tor, or other fiduciary-camriffiy, are required
to make returns of the income belonging to
minors, ry other persons for whom they act a
