Lost Watch Finally Returned to Ita
Owner.
Mr. Lonnie Spear vat treated to a
pleasant surprise Tuesday. Sometime
during last July Mr. 8 pear lost a train
able watch. .He tried in every ordinary
way to recover It, but all without sue
cess. Yesterday it came to him from a
source that he least expected And a pro
cess of tracing found that the watch
had re ached a pawn shop through a ne
gro. It was purchased from the pawn
broker by a voung man of. this city and
sold by him to another. It was from
this fourth handler of the ticker that it
was finally n turned to its original own-

Baseball Boys Defeat Quitman and
are Jubilant.
The ThomasvUle base ball boys are
invincible. Xhey hare a clean record
behind them, and the are playing what
is familiarly known as Crackorjaek
ball.
The game with Quitman Tuesday on
the Qoitman diamond was hard fought
and up to the ninth inning was just any
body's. To that crucial moment the
score stood 6 to 6, but In their half the
home boys knocked ont two runs and
the game was won.

Ur. B. A. Daniels has returned bom n

He seems to have enjoyed his stay, but

The sympathies of the people are with
Dekle and Bowman, who lost their saw
mill plant by fire hut Wednesday. The
fire originated at the slab pile, and op
account of the scarcity of water the de
struction was complete.
Mr. K. G. Rose who has been teach
ing school at New Ochlockonee School,
finished the term last Wednesday, and
lett here on that day with the intention
of attending the teaohers' examination

has gained many lasting friends by his
gentlsmanly and unassuming conduct,
and we wish him continned fineness in
his life's efforts.

on W. B. Godwins place southwest of
town, Noah Herring and Cay Baker,
two negro boys, engaged In a dispute as

yesterday, cays that while a Russian
force ot eight hundred, under General
Kondreovltcli, was traversing a ravipe
nine miles southeast of Kai Chon,
they were surprised by concealed Jap
anese artillery. The Russians lost
heavily, their casualties being twelve
hundred.
