Mr O. H. Arnold. Sr . is a native of
W.lkrs county, O orgia. and is sixty-
lght years old. He ha. tor thn greater

oo-nmunity in whioh he lived.
Until twenty years ago be was n pros
perous farmer, then a farmer and mer-
chant. For several years he was the
senior member of the banking firm of
Arnold Sc Stewart, Lexington, Ga. In
1895 the Bank of Lexington was organ
ized and he was ohoaen vice-president, a
position he still holds. Mr. Arnold baa
in the past represented Oglethotp*
county several times in the state legisla
ture and has been oounty commissions-,

vice, retiring therefrom on aroount of
ill health He has six ohildren, Messrs.

Mr O. H. Arnold, Jr . who is in active

Grocery 01, was born in Oglethorpe
county in 1807 Fifteen years of his life
was spent in merchandising in Maohen,

ens to establish the business of whioh he
is now making a mavnifleent success
He is justly accounted one of the ablest
business m»n in the oltv.
Oapt William D O'Farrell la one of
the active managers of the bus ness of
the Arnold Grocery Company. He
brings to the diaoharge of his duties the
experience of many years in the whole
sale grocery business and a large ac-
qualntai.cn throughout this entire sec
tion. Oapt. O'Farrell is one of the best-
kuown men in Athens, having twice
been mayor of the oity, having served
several terms as alderman, and repre
senting the first ward now in the city
council.
This large wholesale grooery firm
keeps five travelling salesmen on the
road all the time. They are Messrs. Ed
Wier, A. 0 Hancock, Vincent Mat
thews, Joe Maddox and R. L. Porter,
These five salesmen hold their own with
the very beat in Georgia, a fact attested
thoroughly by the amount of goods they ^
