The music recital at the Episcopal
church will take place this evening at
half past eight o’clock. This benefit is
given by Miss Lois Purucker for the
church. She will be assisted by Miss
Gallagher, violin, and Miss Foster, or
gan.
Miss Pnruoker’s rich soprano is at its
best in sacred mnsic, and the magnifi
cent "Oh, Divine Redeemer” shows her
voice in all its great organ tones, its
flexibility and finish. This will he the
most delightful opportunity Athens has
had to enjoy her voice in classical mnsic.
All who have attended any service in
the Episcopal church recently have
realized Miss Foster’s power as a musi
cian and her rare and splendid handling
of the new pipe organ. She will not
only accompany Miss Pnrucker, but
will give three organ solos. Her mas
terly touch and soulful interpretent will
make the evening's mnsio a long to be
remembered treat.
Miss Gallagher who forms the third
member of the program has arranged a
brilliant number, St. Saeus “The De
Inge” as a violin solo, which will be
one of the most exquisite numbers of
the evening. All Athens is enthnsias
tic over Miss Gallagher's wonderful
violin tones and ihe brilliancy of her
mnBic.
It is hop“d that the offering will be
most generons as it is to be the nucleus
of the Rectory fond, the new popular
undertaking of the parish. All mnsic
lovers in Athens are cordially invited.
