For Her Child’s Sake,” a comedy
drama in four acts, was the offering of
the Payton Sisters last night. This
company is unlike the usual popular
priced attractions as the performances
improve nightly. Last night’s perfor
mance was good in every respect. The
entire comj any seemed to be txcep*ion-
ally well cast and the work of Misses
Lucy and Vina Payton as Oiuatance
Dale, the mother, and Henrietta Bar
rington, the actress, was equal to any
seen on the local stage this season. Both
these young ladies have talent, youth
and beauty, and will be recognized be
fore many seasons pass as actresses of
exceptional ability. Senior Payton had
a small role but as usual was very ac
ceptable. Mtssrs. Russell, Browning,
Thompson and Hillman were all equal
to their opportunities.
The company will present "Lady
Andley’s Secret” at the matinee this
afternoon and every child present will
receive a ticket for the two handsome
presents to be given away. Tonight the
roaring farce “U Marriage a Failure’
will be tne offering.
