of a skirt which she had loaned Har
riet, but for several weeks she had

DESPERATELY ILL
Mr. Minor W. Brown, of this city,
is disperat-t ly ill and his life is de-
K|-aired of.
Frr some time he has been in fail
ing health, being afflicted with serious
stomach trouble.
A few days since he w as carried to
lohns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore,
.nr an operation, which was necessary
to save his life.
The operation was performed yes
terday in part, hut the surgeon could
not complete it on account of the con-
uiti.n of the patient. In fact, they
stated that lie could not survive the
shock.
Mr. Rrown will lie brought hack to
Athens at once and everything possi
ble will he done to prolong his life.
The chances for his recovery, how
ever. are very slim, and his many
friends are exceedingly apprehensive
as to the result of his disease.

and thoroughly mixed up. The com
mittee then selects the number of
tickets to he drawn out of the hag: a
child from he audience is chosen,
blindfolded and commences to draw-
out the tickets until tho number nam
ed by the committee is reached, and
if your name is upon that ticket the
ring is yours. All tickets with the
names on them the party must be in
the audience to get the ring.

The funeral of Mrs. J. S. Bernstein,
who died Friday morning at her home
in this city, will he held this after
noon at half past two o’clock at the
residence on Hancock avenue. Rabbi
1. Koplowitz. of the Hebrew syna
gogue will conduct the funeral exor
cises and the remains will he interred
in the Hebrew cemetery.
