Catarrh is not only dangerous in this 1

Cure it by taking Botanic Blood Balm
(B. B. B.) It is a quick, radical, per

entire mucous membrane, and B. B.
B. sends a rich, tingling flood of
warm, rich, pure blood direct to the
paralyzed nerves, giving warmth and
strength just where it is needed, and the schools.
In this way making a perfect, lasting

To tile average stranger in New
York on Sunday, it seems very little
different front any week day, except
that, the stores are closed and there
less trucking about the streets. Oth
erwise the big city seems to be a,
busy as ever. There ate infinite
amusements to attract the pleasure
seeker, and the trains and trolleys ate
crowded with the thousands on their
way to the country for the day. But
the interests cf the 0,200,000 people
in New York vary widely, and while
some look u|>on Sunday as a day ot
recreation, others attend some form
of religious worship regularly. In the
boroughs of -Manhattan and Bronx
alone there are 5S7 churches, and it
was .recently estimated on a Sunday
morning that there was nearly a quar
ter of a million people attending the
different services. The figures show
also that there were three times as
many women church goers as men

Clarkesville, Ga., December 7.—A
crime, committed! about five weeks_
ago has just come to light, implicat
ing Jack Elrod, colored, with luring
ofT and murdering Will Cush, colored,
for his money at. Mt. Airy, near here
It seems that Will Cash was in the
act of settling up his account at a
store when Jack Elrod saw that he
had $5(L_
About dark Elrod went and got Bar
rel Holcomb, colored, and told him
that Will Cach had $50 and that lie
was going to have it.
In a game Cash won all of Elrod’s
money, and Elrod demanded that Casa
give up, but Cash refused and Elrod
pulled his pistol and shot Cash in the
back of the head, killing him insantly.
After robbing him Elrod dragged the
body a few feet away into an old brush
fence where it lay nearly four weeks
until searching parties began to look
for Cash and the buzzards began to
hover around the sjtot where the body
lay. Elrod became afraid that they
would find the body and he got the
boy to go with him and from there he
moved the body two miles back over
tlie roughesFpart of the mountains of
that section by carrying him on his
back, to an old ditch, where he placed
him under a rock, where he was found
few days later by a searching party,
ed by Holcomb.
Holcomb and Elrod are both iu jail
here. Holcomb has confessed to being
an eye-witness to the crime, placing
the guilt on Elrod.

. K. OVERSfREET
Sylvania, Ga., December 7.—In the
primary here today between E. K.
Overstreet and his cousin, J. W. Over-
street. to settle the congressional mas
ter in the couny, E. K. Ooverstreet
won by 150 votes. About 1,000 votes
were polled in the county.
The campaign was a very short and
exciting one. Both sides were cunfi
dent ot victory. While there was some
tittle animosity developed in the cam
paign, it is not believed that any of
it will remain, but that the large ma
jority of the people who supported I
W. Overstreet will now rally to the
support of E. K. Overstreet in the race
that is before 4iim in the district.
The race in Screven county was
most peculiar. E. K. and J. W. Over-
street, cousins, were both candidates
for congress from the first district,
and both were residents ot Screven
country.
It was finally decided to leave to tin-
county the matter of which of the
cousins should lie the candidate, oi
the county before the district.
A formal agreement was entered in
to by the two cousins, and they both
also agreed to go out of the county
during the race iu Screven, and to
leave the voters free from any in
fluence in the expression— of their
choice. They also agreed that the de-
feated candidate would support the
victor.

A LITTLE GIRL
BURNfQJ DEATH
Atlanta, G'a., December 7.—While
playing near an open grate, the cloth
ing of Bessie, the four year old daugh
ter ot Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adams
caught fire, and before the mother,
who rushed into the room could ex
tinguish the flames which wrapped the
little girl, she had suffered burns
which resulted in her death at Grady
Hospital at an early nour last night.
It was reported last night that Mrs.
Adams is in a precarious condition, the
nervous shock having completely pros,
trated her. Doctors who were called
are doing all in their power to assist
her in sustaining the severe shock
Bessie was the only child, and her loss
comes with greater force.
The body is being held at the under-
