MUCH INTEREST
IN SESSION
Particular Interest attaches to
the coming meeting of the child
welfare workers owing to the fact
that plans have been under way
here for sometime to establish the
the Junior Republic of the South,
a self-governing village, for way
ward boys and girls. The estab
lishment of this unique village, the
first of Its kind in the South. Is in
the hands of the Juvenile .Protec
tive Association, of which Rev.
Crawford Jackson is the general
secretary. Mr. Jackson Is per
haps one of the best known work
ers in behalf of child welfare in the
South. The association extends
Its activities through many south
ern states, having been ' itrumen
tal In establishing juvenile courts
and probation systems.
Tho Junior Republic of Ftoe-
vllle. N. Y., a nationally known In
stitution, will be located about six
teen miles from Atlanta. More
than a hundred acreB of land have
already been purchased by the
association on which the neces
sary buildings will bo erected.
Reports made by tbe Juvenile
Protective Association during, tbe
laBt few yean show unusual do-
olopmcnt among delinquent child
ren as the result tf Us activities
in their behalf. Rev. Mr. Jaskaon
personally gives all of his time to
the work of the association which
has accomplished untold good In
making useful citizens out of way
ward boys and girls.
