John Leechmah, a white man Ilv
Ing on the Bogart road, waa tried
In city Court Tuesday morning on
a charge of maliciously killing a
dog. He was acquitted.
The charge waa made by P. W.
Griffeth, another white man. The
dog belonged to, J. W. Daniel, an
other resident of the community.
According to -Mis. Leechmsn, the
dog was mad and frightened a mem
ber of his family. He admitted
shooting It, bat said he did so In
self defense. The same day It
waa killed the dog attacked anoth
er canine belonging to a negro.
The negro’s dog was killed next
day.
