prcciation of the sacrif’ca of their
friends has been rarely, if ever,
equalled in the history of universi
ties and colleges anywhere. It is
proposed to keep this book, renew
ing the pages from time to time,
forever as an undying memorial
to the generosity of those who have
aided and those still aiding the in
stitution. 'The buildings of Ogle
thorpe University are built so as
to endure indefinitely into the
ages, and doubtless when it shall
have been forgotten where Atlan
ta* present sky-scraperi were
located, this memorial, more im
perishable than bronze or maible
slab, will bear witneis to the love
and generosity of the founders of
Oglethorpe University. In the
front of the book will be the mem-
ben of the Board of Founders and
following them will be the names
of the women on the Womens'
Board, followed in turn by the do-
non from all over the world. There
are something like 6000 of these
names and they have subscribed
over 11,000,000 to the University.
