that week will be one of the great
est times oar ctl* has ever bad,
and during the six days doubtless
the city will be filled to overflow
ing with visitors. Of course every
business house will reap a harvest
from these guests.
On that occasion the Elks'
Spring Festival will be held at the
Chase street school grounds,
which have been turned over to
the members (or that occasion.
They have arranged tor the Sherry
k Inblns conglomeration of
shows, known au the "Aristocrats,
of the Wheeled World,” to spend
the week ln Athens. Tbis aggrega
tion has 36 lint class and differ
ent shows, Resides a great Ferris
wheel and other like attractions.
It require* a special train of thirty
ears to transport this company.
They have two bands and all else
to amuse and delight the public.
Now you must not confound this
company with tho average streel
carnival. Every show Is of the
highest class with the best stal
est In their respective lines. And
every exhibit is clean, and s father
can unhesitatingly carry his dang!'
ten or children Into any tent And
neither wilt any skin games or
gambling devices be found with
this comnay. Each tent will be
under the ansplces of the Elks and
an Elk will be at the door of every
exhibit and see that nothing objec
tionable Is permitted and that the
best order Is observed. The honor
of every Elk In Athens Is pledged
that nothing but clean and hlgh-
clsss exhibitions will be given, and
patrons receive full worth for their
money. And to Insure this nledge,

years combined.
"It seems that so many people are
Inclined to regard taxes as a minor
Importance; when In reality they
ought to be fully’awarc of the fact
that taxes come ahead of all other
debts. .
‘The fact that the 3000 taxes on
last year's books yet unpaid amount
to only 10 per. cent (In money

shows thut i the unpaid taxes will
average a very small amount each.
