Commencement exercises ot the
Athens Mich School open on Pri
day afternoon at4 o'clock, the main
features to Include exhibits by, the
Domestic Science, Manual Train
ing and Military departments. The
public Is Invited to be present.
The girls of the sewing classes
have prepared a display 'worthy-ot
the most exclusive and fashionable
establishment, the graduation
gowns alone furnishing a complete
and charming exhibit. These airy,
lovely dresses are fashioned of or
gandie, trimmed In lace and tuck
ed net and embellished with ex
quisite two-toneif ribbons—the
girls in the classical course to wear
turquhlse color the domestic
science, archld, the elective, coral,
and the commercial, honey-dew.
In addition to this delightful fea
ture, there will be a number of
| drosses, waists, eta, hats for all
J occasions, sewing bags, aprons and
! other beautiful article, made due,
ling the school year, all arranged
i on display racks and tables.
' While the girls have been busy
with these garnlents for their own
use, they have not been unmindful
of their duty toward others less for*
tunate, and have made slxty-flve
dresses to be distributed by the
Red Cross which, with contribu
tions from several Individuals
furnished the material. Miss Exuni
and Miss Hull are Instructors In
this department, and their expert
training is Instantly recognized In
the beautiful and neatly made gar
ments.
The Poods Laboratory, which
has recently bean equipped with
the most modern tables, stoves and
cabinets, will be the scene of de-
llqlous and temptingly ^prepared
and arranged salads, desserts,
breads, beverages. Invalid trays
dishes showing the various food
values and the much talked df
calories. -.
In -the cooking room the large
number of artistic charts will also
attract, not only for their beauty
and colorful sketches, but for the
various and timely l<“*nn» they
teach.
The bots In' the Manual Training
department will have on exhibit
their work for the year. In wood
work and drawing. Mr.- H. J. De-
qulck Is In oharge of this Import
ant study.
The final Dress,Parade of the
Junior R. 0. T. C.-battalion will
close the exercises.
