Markets In South Georgia
Are Alive With Buyers
Who Offer Good Prices.
ATLANTA, Ga.—Georgia tobac
co markets, which have just been
opened for the season, presei
busy scenes, with hundreds c_
growers and buyers thronging the
warehouses whose floors are cov
ered with the bright leaf as never
before, according to reports re
ceived here.
At many South Georgia towns,
where the warehouses are locat
ed, particularly along the line of
the A., B. and A. Railroad, re
ports state there is scarcely park
ing room in the warehouse terri
tory for the automoilcs, trucks and
wagons.
Among tho Soifth Georgia coun
ties which produced good crops
are Coffee, Atkinson, Clinch, Ber
rien, Irwin, Ben Hill, Telfair,
Wheeler, Toombs, Tatnall, Ap
pling, Pierce, Bacon and Jeff
Davis.
The present crop, A., B. and A
officials report, shows the best
and brightest grades ever offered
on tho market on opening days
.id although it consisted of the
first pickings of sand lugs, the
i ranged from $10 to $45 n
hundred pounds, making a gen
oral average price of $2Q a hun
dred.

Jack, at first, was very much excited oyer the thrill of n dog fieii'.
And then, as Hip and ttie ship dog lunged at ench other right before
his eyes, the little adventurer realized that one of the doga was likely
to bo badly injured or, in fact, mnybo both of them.
Jack therefore waited no longer, but jumped into the middle of uw
ring of sailor pirates and sezied Flip by the neck. Shouts of anger
quickly arose. “Let the hounds fight,” shouted several pirates. i
out of the way, boy,” eurae tho cry from some of the others.
And, at that moment, Jack-, friend, the cook, dashed forward and
grabbed the other dog by tho hair of hia nock. “Thu lad is right,"
wailed the coko. “Whut kind of men arc wc to ataifd by and jrat-'h
two dogs claw each other?” Then he told Jack to take'1 jin away.
