His tint experiments were con

He finally decided to seal the
grains In guns. Then he revolved
the guns for one hour In-a fear
ful heat. Theguns were then sud
denly unsealed, and the pressure
within was released.
The result Is a loud explosion.
The grains are shot some 200 feet,

million steam explosions occur In
each kernel, one for each food
cell. Thewalls of the kernel expand.
So the grains come out shaped as

to the taste.
j Then the itory of Puffed Grains
was told In the magazines. Every
month It Is still being told by The
Quaker Oats company In some 16

of the homes of the country women
and children are reading that mlury,
told always In a most attractive
way. In every ad 4be grains are
pictured In actual size.
They are not advertised as mere

LETTERS FROM
THE PEOPLE
To th« Banntr-Htrald: '
In writing this letter I have In
mind the letter published about
two Sundays ego, signed X. Y. Z.
and about organists and cooks. «
To say the least that letter was
entirely out of plsce. In my esti
mation and could riot potslbly havt'
done any-good and to my positive
knowledge haa done harm.
When thing* come op, especially
In our churches, that are dlsap*
pointing or unpleasant, wouldn't
It be more Christian-like to go on
and make the best of It, saying a*
little as possible about It, not
keeping It fresh in people’s minds?
Let us be more liberal In our
opinions and more charitable in
our criticisms. Let us be more
appreciative of what we have,
while we have It and we will bn
less likely to lose It.
READER.
OUR DUTY
A S we see it, is to make it possible for the
greatest number of men to wear good
clothes.
We’ve been working along this line for a good
many years; providing fine merchandise and
selling it as cheaply as we could.
Such a policy benefits us and you, too. It brings
us more business, and when we get more busi
ness we are able to give more values.
And so it goes like an endless chain a larger
volume; bigger values; still larger volume; still
greater values.
We're not satisfied yet-we want still
J more business so we can give you
even more for your money
