What may prove to be a most val

Professor Braun, of Tubingen. Jflith-

A New Article of Food.
At a recent meeting of the Paris
Academy of Medicine, Dr. Dujardine-
Beaumetz exhibited a new alimentary
substance, which he named Fojnen-
tine. It is obtained from wheat by the
aid of special millstones, and is the
embryo of the wheat reduced to' flour.
It contains three times more nutri
tious substance than meat and a large
proportion of sugar. It Is thought it
may advantageously replace powdered
meat as a concentrated food. It ma;
be employed for making soups, ant
even for making biscuits.—Chieagt
