Mr. \V. li. Burnell has returned

'Mr. John Matthews i* rejmrlcd as
somewhat heller.
Rev. Dr. Patterson will preach at
St. Mary's church to-night.
Mrs. Dr. Lyndon has been ill for
Ion days, but is somewhat improved.
Miss Emeiino Reynolds left for
Atlanta this morning on a visit to her
brother.
We regret to hear that Mrs. Dr.
McCleiky is very ill. Sho was con
sidered in a critical condition last night.
A bolt of lightning struck some
thing near the city during the rain,
probably the Georgia railroad track.
In the case ot the state vs Robert
Parks, (col) charged with rape, in the
justice court, the defendant was
discharged on payment of cost.
The case of the state vs Dora Ben
nett, charged with larceny was tried
ir. the city court this morning and a
verdict ol not gnilty was rendered.
Judge Asa M. Jackson and wife
hnvo returned (rom their visit to the
mountains. The Judge seems much
improved and is in cheerful spirits.
Dr. E. S. Lyndon rccievod a fine
pointer, by express from New nan,
this morning,
unusually intelligent animal and the
Doctor thinks much ol him.
There is a little dullness and inac

calm, before the storm. In two or
three weeks the city will be all life
and bustle in business circles.

‘ Woman’s Best Friend.’ It is adapt
ed especially to those cases where the
womb is disordered, and will cure any
irregularity of the 4 menses.’ Brad-
field’s Female Regulator acts like a
charm in ‘whites,’ or a sudden cheek
ot the 4 monthly courses,’ from cold,
trouble of mind or like causes, by
restoring the discharge in every in
stance. In chronic cases its action is
prompt and decisive, and saves the
constitution from countless evils and
premature decay. Prepared by . Dr.

I have used your Female Regulator
extensively in my practice for a long
time, and with entire success where
there was no complication of disease.
If it is not a specific, it is, in my opine
ion, the best known remedy for the
diseases lor which it is recommended.

BRIGHT'S DISEASE
and other affections of the Kidneys

on and often aggravated by the neg

in time, would no doubt in a majority
of cases yield to treatment. No med

to the parts, allays irritation, and
restores healthy action.

STONE THE WOMAN.
Yes, stone the woman—let the man go free!
Draw back your skirt*, lest they perchance
May tonch her garments as she pM^e*:
Hut to him put torth a willing hand
To clasp with his that led h#r to destruction,
And disgn.ee. Shut up from her the sacred
Way* of toil, tltxt she may no more win ui.
Honest meal, but opc to him all honorable
Path* where he may win di*t-notion.
Give him fair, pressed^down measure*
Of life's sweetest joys. Pas* her,
Oh. maiden, with a pure, proud face,
If sho puts out a poor, polluted palm,
But lay thy hand in He on bridal day,
And swear to cling to him
With witely love nnd tender revereuce ;
Trust him who led a sister woman
To a fatal fate.
Yes, stone the woman—let the man go lree !
Lst one soul suiter for the guilt of two—
Is the cootrine of a hurried world,
Too out of breath lor holding balances
Where nioe distinctions and injustice*
Are calmly w eighed. But ah ! how will it be
On that strange d^y of final fire and fiair.e,
When men shall stand before the one
True Judge ? Shall sex make then
A difference in sin ? Shall lie,
The vearcher of the hidden heart,
In His eternal and divine decree,
Condemn the woman and forgive the man?

READ THE TESTIMONIALS!
I most earnestly entreat every female expectim? to be confined, to use “ THE MOTHER’S
RELIEF.” Coupled with this entreaty. I will add. that during a large obstetrical practice,(for
ty four years) 1 have never known it to fail to produce a safe and quick delivery.
IL J. Holms*, M. D. Atlanta, Ga.
A lady from one of the counties qf Middle Georgia, who nas been acting Midwife for many
years, writes : “ I have been disposed of all the Mother’s Relief you sent me nnd 1 AM DE
LIGHTED WITH IT. In every instance where It has been used, ite effects have been all that I
COUld a*k. I CONSIDER IT A GREAT IJLE8S*NO.”
A Gentleman writes: ‘My wife used a bottle of ‘Mothere Relief’ procured from you. She
was considcrbiy advanced in life before this, her first confinement, and she xnowe it was the
means of very greatly lessening her buffering ifi indeed, it wae not the means of savino her life.
Another guntluman writes: “My wife used your ‘Mother's Relief’ at her fourth confinement
and her testimony is that she passed tnough it with one-half the ■uffering of either of her former
friend who was about to be confined for trie first time, and »he eayc : I havx ntitbr vzek any
ONE PASS THROUGH THIS GREAT TRAIL WITH SO MUCH EASE ANO 80 LITTLE SUFFERING.”
The names of these, and mouy others, can be had by eally at my office.
Having had the foregoing remedy Thoroughly Tested in Atlanta and vicinity, I now offer
to my patrons as possessing superior merits. Prcparedby
