Symptoms of a Diseased Liver.
P AIN in the right side, under the
edge of the ritsi, increases on pres
sure ; sometimes the pain is in the left
side; the patient is rarely able to lie
on the left side; sometimes the pain
is felt under the shoulder blade, and
it frequently extends to the top of the
shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken
for rheumatism in the arm. The stom
ach is affected with loss of appetite
and sickness; the bowels in general
arc costive, sometimes al.. -ative with
lax; the head is troubled with pain,
accompanied with a dull, heavy sen
sation in the back part. There is gen
erally a considerable loss of memory,
accompanied with a painful sensation
of having left undone something which
ought to have been done. A slight,
dry rough is sometimes an attendant.
Tim patient complains of weariness
and debility; he is easily startled, his
feet arc cold or burning, and he com
plains of a prickly sensation of the
skin; his spirits are low; and although
he is satisfied that exercise would be
beneficial to him. yet he can scarcely
summon up fortitude enough to try it.
In fact, he distrusts every remedy.
1 Several of the above symptoms attend
I the disease, but cases have occulted
where few of them existed, yet exam-
1 ination of the body, after death, has
! shown tlie liver to have been exten-
| sivcly deranged.

Below we give tlic names of Persons wlio are Using our Celebrated COOK STOVES
and take great pleasure in Ircfering to any of them as to the merits of our
Goon Digestion.—“ Give us this
dav "iir daily bread” and good medi
cine to digest it, is bolli reverent and
human. The human stomach and
liver aie fruitful sources of life’s
comforts ; or disordered anil diseased,
they '.ingle misery along every nerve
and through every artery. The man
< r woman with good digestion see
beauty as they walk, and overcome
obstacles they meet in the routine of
life, where the dispeptic sees only
gloom and stumbles and growls at
even imaginary objects. The world
still needs two or three new kinds of
medicine before death can be perfectly
abolished; but that many lives have
been prolonged, and many sufferers
from Liver disease, Dispepsia and
Headache, have been cured by- Mcr-
rell’s Ilepatine, is no longer a doubt.
It cures Headache in twenty minutes, 5fk,» K p n iTitV»iVn
and there is no question but what it is ' ’
the most wonderful discovery made in
medical science. Those afUicted with
Biliousness and Liver Complaint
should use Merrell’s Hepatine.
It can be had at
Dr. C. W. Long & Co.,
Now and Then.—It is only now
and then that such men as Hon. Alex.
II. Stephens, Ex-Gov. Smith and
Ex-Gov. Brown of Ga., endorse a
medicine for the throat and Jungs, and
when they ko it is pretty good evidence
that the remedy must be good for the
cure of coughs, colds and long affec
tions. They recommend the Globe
Flower Cough Syrup, and their
testimonials are to bo seen round the
ten cent sample bottles of the Globe

AGUE AND FEVER.
Dr. C. McLanf.’s Liver Pills, in
cases of Ague and Fever, when
taken with Quinine, are productive of
the most happy results. No better
cathartic can be used, preparatory to,
or after taking Quinine. We would
advise all who are afflicted with this
disease to give them a fair trial.
For all bilious derangements, and
as a simple purgative, they are un-
cqualcd.
BEWARE OF IMITATIONS.
The genuine are never sugar coated.
Every box has a red wax seal on the
lid, with the impression Dr. McLane’S
Liver Pills.
The genuine McLane’s Liver Pills
hear the signatures of C. McLane and
Fleming Bros, on the wrappers.
Insist upon having the genuine Dr.
C. McLane’s Liver Pills, prepared by
Fleming Bros., of Pittsburgh, Pa., the
market being full of imitations of the
name McLane, spelled differently but
same pronunciation.

DR. BIGGKRB—Dear Sir: In the use of your Southern Remedy in my family, I have found it the
most pleasant medicine lor children to take, and tho most satisfactory to cure I hare ever met. I have
used It now for several years, and never allow myself to be without some of tt on hand, and its imme
diate use saves all trouble and danger. I have alwayr felt if you had no other laim to the public con
fidence than this specific. It alone should give it to you, and both, fame and fortune added, if you
would only sufficiently advertise it to let the world kuow its healing power and benefits.
