game and that probably has some
thing to, do with the Whitey bunch
beating by the score of 16 to 15.
Capt. Country Mangum, of Hed and
Black fame, covered the game for us
and he remarked that if hits and.runs
meant anything that yesterday game
was a peachareno.

Case to Have Great
Bearing on Electric
Utility Rates in Ga.

Atlanta, Ga.. June 3.—While no of
ficial Information r has been received
to that effect, It ts understood the
Georgia Railroad commission expects
the city of Augusta, through Its coun
sel, to participate in defending the
order of the commission which the
Augusta-Alken Rnllway nnd Electric
corporation has asked the United
States court to enjoin. It in under
stood that the city of Augusta cannot
Intervene in the case as it now
stands, but city officials will, it is ex
pected, aid materially in preparing
tlio affidavits which will have to be
submitted to the court ou June 5th,
with the commission’s answer, and
probably advise, through the city at
torney. with Judge J. K. Hines, spe
cial counsel for the commission.
The case Is one which has highly
important bearing on ait railway and
electric utility rates In the state.
Seaboard Reduces
Rates to Atlanta
Mr.- C. S. cdRipton, commercial
agent of the Seaboard Air Line an
nounces that effective next Sunday;
and continuing through September 4,
the round trip between Athens and
Atlanta will be 82.16 including tax.
This rate is good only on train No.
17, leaving Athens at 8 a. m. arriv
ing Atlanta 9:40 Atlfnta time, and re
turning on train :.o. 18, leaving At
lanta at 4 p. m. Atlanta time arriving
In Athens at 7:50 Athens time.

for less than the usual one-way rate.
