the bones were three inches deep
on his plate. They were removed

Yesterday intelligence reached
here that Mr. John N. Adkins had
just died at his his home five

His death was a great surprise

Upon investigation we learned
that lie was taken violently ill
while here Thursday and had two
convulsions before reaching home.
He continued to grow worse until

What can be done about it?
There are dozens of cases before
our court that have been put off
from term to term for the past two
or three years. There are several
tedious cases that consume all the
time allotted and it looks as if
most of the cases on the dockets
will never be tried. They can’t
be unless more than one week is
given to the civil business.

This week will be given to the

did a great deal of work. Their

The Atlanta Constitution has
taken a bold stand for Georgia in
the distribution of the public offi
ces of the government. It claims
that there are 80,000 offices in
the gift of the administration and
according to the showing made by-
Georgia she is entitled to at least
25,000 of these offices. We say if
Georgia is entitled to them she
ought to have them. Heretofore
nearly all the offices have been
filled from certain localities in the
Eastern States when they shonld
have come South.
Georgia is possibly the strongest
democratic State in the Lrnion.
Whatever may be said of her she
is by no means a doubtful element
when it comes to politics. The
people of the whole country know
what to expect of her and they are
neyer deceived. Thus she demands
great recognition in this matter.
Let all good citizens join in
claiming for our state that just
recognition in all matters that she
deserve and let us keep her at the
top of the ladder in all tilings.
There has been a con
throng of office seekes at the Cap
itol since before the inauguration. I
Georgia contributed her quota of j
these and many of them have been j
successful in their applications j
while others are still there push- j
ing their claims.
Those who have gone there to
help their own cause are good men
they spent their money-, time and

usually required for the completion
of Book-keeping, Shorthand or
Telegraphy, in the Text Book Col
