This Kay Sound Odd, But it is Never

In this eminently progressive
age, the education of no young
man, no matter what his intended
avocation, can be regarded us fully
qualifying him for success unless
he possesses a business training.
Where to get that of the most
practical character m< st quickly
and cheaply is the question. This
paper ventures nothing in saving
that investigation will prove the
Ga.—Ala. Business College of Ma

Many young men in six 10
twelve weeks at an expense of
only $20, to $30, have recently fin
ished book-keeping, telegraphy or
shorthand there, and, in spite of
the hard times, immediately stepp
ed into positions paying $50 to
$75 per month. There is usually
a disposition to wait and begin
with the New Year; but if a busi
ness education is of any value at
all, the quicker it is gotten, the
more valuable it is; and by writ
ing to the principals, Mess. Wyatt

much better terms can be made
than by waiting until later on.

Don’t do it.
Don’t spend youi money foolish
ly. When you buy goods, don’t
throw your money away on shoddy
stuff that has no shape, style or
lasting qualities about it, but get
the best, which is always the
cheapest.
You want to buy a Xmas present

spend your money on frivolities,

buy something useful and good.
Your wife and girls need new Hats.
Buy them for a Xmas present and

If you decide to ouy Hats, what
kind will you get? You don’t
want something that is way out of
date with no shape or style to it.
It is true you can buy that sort of
stuff a few cents cheaper because

thing that is new and stylish and

Nothing is more true than that
death creeps upon us when we
least expect it. Several days since
Mrs. C. H. Branch was critically
ill and her parents, Mr. and Mrs,
Luke G. Johnson of Danielsville,
Oglethorpe county, were notified.
Her mother and father, both very
old, having lived together for more
than 50 years, came at once to see
the sick daughter. While attend
ing the bedside of her daughter
Mrs. Johnson was attacked with
LaGrippe and despite the heroic
skill of physicians and tender
nursing of friends her system rap
idly gave way to the disease and
in two days our town was shocked
by the intelligence of her death.
Mr, Johnson was quite sick too
but left Friday night in company
with his two sons who had come
down, and they carried with them
all that remained of wife and
mother.
The death of Mrs. Johnson was
unexpected and sad indeed and
our whole town mourns with the

Since our last issue we learn
that our information concerning
the robbing of Mr. S. Manuel’s
safe at Unadilla was incorrect. We
thought our information reliable
and printed the account just as
given us.
From Mr. John Crumpler, who
lost some money in the robbery,
we learn that the burglars prized
open a side window near the safe
instead of unlocking the door as
reported, and crawled in.
The safe in Mr. Manuel’s office
is near the fire place and whoevor
opened the safe must have stood
around the fire from time to time
and watched Mr. Manuel as he
worked the combination to open
his safe, thus catching on to the
numbers and turns.
The amount taken was about
an even hundred dollars. $60 be-1
longing to Mr. Crumpler and $40
of Mr. Manuel’s money. He would
hare gotten more, and doubtless he
thought he would, but Mr. Manuel
had paid out$300 that same night.
The thief left $30 lying in an en
velope on the floor. No clew as to
who the thief was can be found.
