a. debt of $6,00 from a negro boy,
or force him to return and work on
his farm, the Fenn place on Swift

evidence, she got highly indignant,
called out the men in the quarter
for a riot, aud they made way with
Mr. - Edmondson then and there,
riddling his boay with shot guns
and pistols. After the killing,
they placed his body m the buggy
and started his horse toward home.
This was about 11 o’clock Saturday
night. About 9 o’clock Sunday
morning he was found near the Jerry
Slade place, 2 1-2 miles from
Coney on the road home, yet in his
buggy and the .hoise tangled with
the buggy among trees. Excite
ment ran high, and a crowd of
white men was there Sunday with a
gun now and then in sight. An in
quest was held Monday, rendering
a verdict of premeditated murder
against several negro men, aud one
woman for accessory. As a result,
Semore Williams, Los Henderson
and '1 hompson Dennard are in Vi-
enha jail, and, Tom Young is badly
wanted;- Harriott Gordon is also
in jail for aaoessory.

Mount Sunday was not disturbed
by tho weather to any great extent,
as the house would not hold the
people and the people could not
hold the dinner. The rainy days
of Friday and Saturday gave the
housewives of the community a dis
agreeable time in which to prepare
the dinner, and tho slim prospeot
of a good day Sunday plaoed a
doubt on their minds as to the pd-
visability of preparing for it. But
they were equal to the occasion, as
they always are in that community.
The services began at 9 o'clock
by Prof. J. B. Folds calling the
class to order. Prayer was offered
by Mr. Lon Youngblood. J. B.
Folds appointed L. J. Hogsott, W.
A. Forehahd, Lon Youngblood a

brough, R. B. Moye, T. R. Smith

Tho leaders were changed every
ten minutes. The olass showed in
tense enthusiasm, the audience
seemed to thoroughly enjoy the
music, and perfect order prevailed
throughout the day.
