the program excellent addresses

offered by Col. Crura for general
exccllenoy was awarded to Miss
Katie Me.Neeee. Claude Smitn also
received a medal. At night an
excellent prograimwas rendered to a
orowded house. The teachers,’wit h

department, are to be congratulated
for the success of tho day un-i night

Greene is the son of our county
school commissioner, Mr E G Greene
a well kuown and highly respected
man. Miss Sims is one Of Dooly’s
model girls. YYe know her only to
love her. She, will be greatly
missed in our community. They

not know how long it will last, but
it will be governed by .circumstances.

The barn and corn crib «n John
A Stephens farm near Wenona went
up ill smoke and down in ashes
about noon Wednesday oflast week.
All of the foed stuff for a three
horse farm, an ample supply, was
entirely destroyed. The fire broke
out through the roof ot the barn
after the farm bell rang for the
hands, and before the hands got to
he hduse. It is not known how it
caught, bnt a- colored farm hand
had been sleeping in the loft of the
barn, and it is hinted that he is a
cigarette smoker. Evidently he
left fire in his bed clothes that
morning.
