St. Louis, Sept. 81—Will you
register, please? is an invitation of
ten extended ’ to the visitor on the
grounds of the World’s Fair. The
cause of it is a rivalry between
a tales and exhibitors in a desire to
secure ,the lnrgcst registratiea of
callers.
Thoro is no prize offered, but a
good deal of owsdit will attach to
the commission that can claim the
largest list when the Expesition is
closed. Iu many of the State build
ings where the custom of register
ing is most practical, charming
ypjjrag ladies 'preside over tlio guest
book and no visitor is permitted to
escape without first leaving an auto
graph memento.
Souvcinrc and guesses for prizes
are offered;as prizes as inducements
by manj%'f the commercial exhibi
tors and on every band there is a
book with a polite attendant stand
ing near proffering a freshly dipped
pen to the pnsser-by.
Thomas Hatch, superintendent of
the California exhibit in the Fores
try,- Fiefti and Game building is one
of the most active competitors in
this contest and has already tilled
three large registers with names.
He estimates that during the Hist
three months of tire Exposition 35-,-
■ 000 persons visited the California
exhibit and subscribed their names.
So popular has become the cus
tom of registering that some of the
visitors early je their explorations
equip themselves with rubber
stamps, ihe venders of which are
carrying on a profitable business at
the Ward’s Fair.

A WONDERFUL INVENTION
It is interesting to note that for
tunes are frequently made by the
.invention of articles of minor impor
tance. Many of the most popular
devices ara those designed to benefit
the people and meet popular condi
tions, and one of the most inter
esting of these that has ever been
invented is the Dr. White Eleotrie
Comb, patented Jan. l,-‘00. Thoso
wonderful Combs positively cure
dandruff, hair falling out, sick and
nervous headaches, and when used
with Dr White’s Electric Hair Brush
are positively guaranteed to make
straight hair cully in 25 days' time.
Thousands of those electric combs
have been sold in various citicN ol
the Un on, and the demand is coil
stantly increasing. Our agents are
rapidly becoming rich selling these
combs. They positively sell on
sight. Send for sample. Men's
