The abbey of Motk, where
the Empei or lodges, is one of
the fine It in Europe. There is
net, either in France or in Italy,
. i.y convent or abbey that can
be coir pared to it. Ic is in a

the Danube. It was one of the
principal pods of the Romans,

built by the emperor Commo

The cellars and vaults of the
abbey were full cf very good

been of great help so the army,

The avenues of Vienna, on
this fide, do not resemble the
, venues of great capitals. From
j Inez to Vienna there is but one
high road ; a great many rivers,
inch as the Ips, the Elaph, the
Molk, the Tralen, &c. have
only bad wooden bridges over
them. The country is covered
with lore lls of pine trees. At
every flep arc inexpugnable po

From the Inn, hither, the Da

down the river rapid and easy.
All the intercepted letters
speak only of the frightful chaos
which Vienna exhibits. The
war was undertaken by the
Austrian cabinet against tire ad

PHILADELPHIA, :c.
It is reported, that accounts

The following intelligence is
said co have been received in

hundred Indians had aflkmbied
near Detroit, on the Britiib fide

of red and black wampum to the
commanding officer there. The
militia have been called out, Sz
it is feared that they are not ad

Indians, fay that these colors est

We have to add that the force
at Detroit, which we apprehend
was under Capr. M'Clary or
Lieut. Stark was very incor.fi
derable. Thole officers have
aided with a great deal of pru
dent circumfpebtion. We have
not heard which of the tribes
have offered these preliminary
mena es, but iuppofc them to be
the Chippaways. It is worthy
of remark that a confide rable
body of Britiffi troops have been
lately landed at Halifax, parti
cularly the 98th' regiment from
England.
