FIFTY CENTS PER DAY,
Shoal Creek, May 18, 1802.
Mu. Editor:—Dear Sir: ]
see in a late issue of your paper
that Plow Boy No. 2 lias been hit
by Plow Boy tho first, as the hit
dog nl ways ballons. Ho wanted
to bark, but did not know what
to bark at, unless it was to say
something about a poor man who
had to work for his living and
not get a liuseuit once a week.
Will he please lot mo ask him if
his sympathy had have run so
;h all through his past life,
would there not liaye been many
poor fellows in White county
better oil' than what they are?
\nd lei me ask him if he has
worked at the toiling laborers
prices all through his life. If he
did not, think his huscuils would
have boon one in a hill. Let me
isk him if it wou’d not look more
like filling the scriptures for him
and his boys to bo doing the iifty-
ent labor than to bo studying up
schemes and plans to beat the
toiler out of his honest earnings.
Let me ask him how he tlpnks he
will feel in eternity when
the understanding drops hack on
the many lives, tons, fifteens and
twenties that ho has lifted out of
so many people with dependant
families on them? It may ho
that Plow Boy No. 2 never shot
it me, but as I was a poor man
doing daily labor for myself and
family that 1 might keep them
rolling on the stage of action, I
felt the lick. Now, in conclusion,
if 1 had a little estate to wind up
when I left this world and Plow
Boy No. 2 had a clue at it, J
would not expect my family to
have corn bread of Sunday
morning long, let alone a buscuit.
I would rather live hard and
work hard than to scheme and
trick the laborer out of his living.
-Mr. Plow Boy No, 2, while in
your palace in Cleveland, will yo.i
pray for me and my family in our
little collage home oil Shoal
Creek?
