‘BAD BLOOD.’
“THE LIFE 18 THEJBLOOD-”
From it we derive our strength, beauty,
and mental capabilities. It is the centre of
our being, around which revolves all that
makes existence happy. When this (source
is corrupted the painful effects are visible
in many shapes, prominent among which is
SCROFULA.
This is a taint or infection of the human
organism, and probably no one is wholly
free from it.. It exhibits itself in varidtft
shapes—as Ulcers and Sores, Decayed Bones,
Diseased Scalp, Sore Eyes, Weak and Diseas
ed Joints, St. Vitus’ Dance, Foul Discharg
es from the Nostrils, Eruptions, Glandular
Swellings, Throat Affections, Rheumatism,
Heart Affections, Nervous Disorders, Bar
renness, Disorders of the Womb, Dropsy.
Syphillitic Affections, Liver Complaint, Salt
Rheum, Dyspepsia, Neuralgia, Loss of Man
hood and General Debility.
It has been the custom to treat these dis
eases with Mercury and other Mineral sub
stances, which, though sometimes producing
a cure, often prove injurious and entails
misery in after life. The long known inju
rious properties of these so-culled alteratives
and purifiers has led the philantliropicnl
man of science to explore the arena of na
ture, the result of which has been the discov
ery of vegetable products which possess the
power of eradicating these Taint* from the
Blood.

Ayer's Cherry Pectoral,
For Diseases of the Throat and Lungs,
such aa Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, .Asthma,
and Consumption.
Probably never before in the whole history of
medicine, has any thing won so widely and so
deeply upon the confidence of mankind, as this
excellent remedy for pulmonary complaints.
Through a long scries of years, and among most
of the races of men it has'risen higher aud higher
in their estimation, as it has become better known.
Its uniform character and power to cure the va
rious affections of the lungs and throat, have
made it known &3 a reliable protector against
them. While adapted to milder forms of disease
and to young children, it is at the same time die
most effectual remody that can be giveu for incip
ient consumption, and the dangerous affections
of the throat and lungs. Asa provision against
sudden attacks of Croup, it should be kept on
hand in every family, and indeed.as ail aie some
times subject to colds aud coughs, all should ba
provided with this antidote for them.
Although settled Consumption is thought in
curable, still great numbers of cases where the
disease seemed settled, have been completely
cured, and the patient restored to sound health
by the Chct'ry Pectgrul. So complete is its
mastery over the disorders of the Lungs and
Throat; that the most obstinate of them yield to it.
When nothing else could reach them, under the
Cherry Pectoral they subside aud disappear.
Singers and Public Speakers find great
protection from it.
Asthma is always relieved and often wholly
cured by it.
Bi'onchitis is generally cured by taking the
Cherry Pectoral in small and frequent doses.
So generally are its virtues known, that we
need not publish the certificates of them here, or
do more than assure the public that its qualities
are fully maintained.
Ayer’s Ague Cure,
For Fever and Ague, Intermittent Fever,
Chill Fever, Remittent Fever, Dumb
Ague, Periodical or Bilious Fever, &c.,
and indeed all the affections which arise
from malarious, marsh, or miasmatic
poisons.
As its name implies, it does Cure, and doos not
fail. Containing neither Arsenic, Quinine, Bis
muth, Zinc, nor any other mineral or poisonous
substance whatever, it in nowise injure3 any pa
tient. The number and importance of its cures
in the ague districts, aroJiterallv beyond account,
and we believe without a parallel in the history
of Ague modicinq: Our pride is gratified by the
acknowledgments we receive of the radical cureß
effected in obstinate cases, and »vhere oilier rem
edies had wholly failed.
Unacclimated' persons, cither resident in, or
travelling through miasmatic localities, will bo
protected by taking the AO (Hi CtTJtJS daily.
For Liver Complaints, arising from torpid
ity of tho Liver, it is an excellent remedy, stimu
lating the Liver into healthy activity.
For Bilious Disorders and Liver Complaints, it
is an excellent remedy, producing many truly
remarkable cures, where otiier medicines had
failed.
