Bring it in and sell before it goes low er. There is no rise holding it for i-j cents. This is our dullest season; still we note a good deal of trading. The truth lias been found bat a t a distance that here is the plaice to get good bar gains. Stocks of goods ample and prices moderate. Sabbath schools are flourishing at our ‘station.’ - There'are three in sue-, eessful operation, and some three hun dred persons, as teachers and scholars attend. There should be at least six hundred. Remember parents of Car ters villo that there is no child, howev er poor he may be, who would not be received with open arms by any Sab bath school here, bring your children to the schools. See to it tint you do not injure your children by keeping them away f orn these places of re ligious teaching. The attendance at our last prayer meeting was not as full as it ought to have been, on last Wednesday evening. We trust at Our next meeting to greet a large number. ißemembor it will be held at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday night. w e should be pleased to sec the new street laid out already as far as Rev. James L. Pierce’s andCapi, J. N. Dobbs’, extended to Col. J. C. Young’s residence. Why not; is there any good reason it should not be done? BUGGIES AND W.iGONS. The attention of our readers is call ed to the advertisement of Demurest & Woodruff They now have on hand at their repository, a larger stock and better variety of Buggies, Wagons and Carriages than ever before since the war. The public will recollect that the Woodruff Wagon took the first pre mium at the last state fair, and is ac knowledged to be the most desirable and light-set running wagon in use. They warrant every vehicle they sell. As the census taker, Mr. A. Collins, has begun h.s rounds, we take occasion to remind the ladies that a refusal to tell their age will cost them thirty dol lars. Fine Wine. —We are under obliga tions to the Philadelphia and (Atlanta Wine and Liquor Company, for a bot tle of fine scuppernong (Cal.) Wine. They have this fine wine for sale. See their advertisement. ISuMr. Guthrie’s elegant Soda Founts, are still in full blast, dispensing a beverage that, as regards coldness, would make one imagine that it came direct from the arctic regions. One of them can be found at hia Confectione ry, on Main Street, run by Mr. John Williams, who is ever ready to supply any and all w T ho may favor him with a call; the other, is kept at the Burtop; House, and is presided over by the in imitable Guthrie himself, and Mr. Vir gil Williams, his polite and affable clerk, both of whom never grow weary of drawing Soda and making change. In fact, Guthrie and his,Soda Founts, and his splendid Hotel, are sine qui nons in this community, and are bound, to flourish. Hurrah, for Guthrie!
