This is the time of year when common house-flies begin to j drop in in a friendly way to stay with | us through the summer. Persons who may think they have more flies than tr.ey want are advised to try this plan: Take some spirits of turpentine, mix enough powdered rosin to make it very sticky; than spread it on pure i chile paper and place in a good light where Hies are plenty. When they alight on it (as they naturally do on all white surfaces, as all house-keepers know,) the mixture holds them fast by the legs, and they speedily die; when fully covered, place the paper in a stove, and those flies will give no further trouble. The advantage of this meth od over others is, that the flies are alto gether in one place, instead of tumb ling, dead and dying into everything, as they do when poisoned.
