The Sandersville correspondent of
the Atlanta Journal says: “The social
event of the week was an entertain
ment gjven by Miss Malinda Speir, of
cartersville. The evening was spent
in playing the new game of, “Sher
lock Holmes.” Refreshments were
served at a late hour. Those present
were Miss Mattie Mae Wall, Miss Ma
mie Sparks, Miss Malinda Speir and
Miss Esther Butts, Messrs. Richhourg,
Mitchell, Ott and Malone. Miss Speir
is the lovely guest of Dr. and Mrs. G.
W. Malone.”
The Cartersville friends of Col, Ben
Conyers, of Atlanta, were glad t see
him here Monday, lie is one of the
Cartersville boys who has scored for
himself a measure of sucess in the
Gate City.
Mr. Walter D&vts, who has been con
nected with the Fourth National Bank,
in Atlanta for some time, has returned
to Cartersville and will hereafter he
vith the Cartersville Lumber Cos.
Mr. Jim Milam came up from Atlanta
and spent Sunday in Cartersville. Mr,
Milam holds a responsible position at
Rich's.

petition ot the Clifford Lime and Stone Company
respectfully shown that It is a eorporation creat
ed and doing business under and by virtue of a
charter duly granted by this court:
That for business reasons It desires to amend
its charter by changing its said corporate name
and style to that 01 Clifford Stone and Cement
Company.
Wherefore petitioners pray an order of this
court amending Its charter so that Its corporate
name shall hereafter he Clifford Stone and Ce
ment Company, with all the rights and privil
eges heretofore granted to the Clifford Lime and
Stone Company under its said Charter.
