A Cough
“I have made a most thorough
trial of Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral and
am prepared to say that for all dis
eases of the lungs it never disap
points.”
J. Early Finley, Ironton, O.
Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral
won’t cure rheumatism;
we never said it would.
It won’t cure dyspepsia;
we never claimed it. But
it will cure coughs and
colds of all kinds. We
first said this sixty years
ago; we’ve been saying it
ever since.

KINGSTON.
Our little city is under a cloud
of sorrow caused by the death of
two o( her most lovable ladies.
Mrs. A. Y. Sheats, wife of Capt.
A. Y. Sheats. died at 11 p. m., Sep
tember 25th, after several day’s
.sickness, and was laid to rest at 11
a. m., September 26th, in Kingston
cemetery by the side of her little
•daughter, who preceded her several
years since. The funeral services
were conducted at the Baptist
church by Rev. \\ . M. Dyer, as
sisted by Dr. R. B. Headden, of
Rome, and Rev. C. A. Jamison, o'
Kingston. The services were very
impressive and was witnessed by a
large concourse of sympathizers
and friends and relatives from
Kingston and vicinity and a num
ber from Cartersville and other
places. After the services in the
church the body was conveyed to
the cemetery, and after burial ser
vices the remains of one of the best
Christian ladies in Kingston was
consigned to the silent tomb. Too
much cannot be said of her. She
iiad no enemies. All who knew
her loved her pure Christian char
acter. A pure mother in Israel
has passed oyer the river and rests
under the shade of the tree. Peace
to her. ashes. Capt. A. Y, Sheats,
her beieaved husband and her only
son, Mr. S. I. Sheats, and all the
relatives have the heartfelt sym
pathy of this community.
The other sad death was Mrs. J.
R Cbaffki, nee Miss Anna Bur
r >ugh, who departed this life at
their home, in Dalton, at 6 a. m ,
September 25th, after a few days
of severe affliction. Her mother,
Mrs. Henry r Burrough, and her
husband and her sister, Miss Hat
tie Burrough, and brother, hea
der n, were at her bedside at the
time of her death. Her body ar
rived on the train from Dalton at
.'5:30 p. in., September 25th. Her
'brother, Mr. Charles Burrough, of
Vicksburg, Miss,, was wired and
arrived before the burial, also her
’brother, Eugene, and two sisters
from Atlanta, Mrs. Chaffin and
.Mrs. Duckett and their husbands
and other relatives from Atlanta,
Cartersville and Rome. The fun
eral services were conducted by
Rev. C. A. Jamison, pastor of the
Methodist church, at 3 p. m., Sep
tember 26th, in the presence of a
large number of friends and rela
tives. Mrs, Chaffin was raised
liere, was a lovely character and
liigbly esteemed and ioved by all
who knew her. We tender the
sympathies of this entfre commun
ity to her husband, mother, broth
ers, sisters and all the bereaved
ones.

If memory serves rightly the ar
