It now seems very likely that
Atlanta will get anew depot. A
bill nroviding for its ereeton has
passe 1 both hou-e arid senate, and
it will be built from money receiv
ed for the rental of the state road.
A Methodist preacher, Rev. J.
\Y. Bradford, was .'hoi and Killed
by B. D. Hoffman, v hose expul
sion from the cnurch the minister
had caused, at Brookside, Ala., a
few days ago.
Governor Candler vetoed the
Wright dispensary bill the other
d;y. the chief executive saying
the bill was a delusion and a snare.
There has .ten some ta.k of try
ing to pass the measure over lus
veto, but it is thought it will not
amount to anything.
Col. Jim Smith, the big Ogle
thorpe farmer, lias signified his in
tention of being in the race for
governor next year. And the an
nouncement is putting the bo\s to
speculating again. Well, he is a
man of big brain and sturdy hon
esty and he may make it some
what interesting to all competitors.
In a private letter received by a
gentleman in Cartersville from
Governor Candler in reference to
the dispensary bill just vetoed bv
him, he states that the brewers and
wholesale liquor dealers were in
favor of the bill and the church
people and conservative business
men were opposed to it. He fur
ther said that out of fifty-four let
ters received that day two censured
him for vetoing the bill and the
balance approved his action.
The legislature will adjourn
next Friday night or some time
Saturday morning. Members are
getting anxious for that time to
come. In ’.net, they are fast going
home, and it is e-inn ted that on
the closing night there will hardly
be a quorum on hand. This ses
sion has been a remarkable one in
many respects, and it is hardly
probable that there will be another
such session for years to come,
says the Augusta Chronicle’s At
lanta correspondent.

Scott's Emulsion is the right
help. It breaks up such a
combination. First it sets the
stomach right. Then it en
riches the blood. That
strengthens the body and it
begins to grow new flesh.
A strong body makes rich
blood and rich blood makes a

Scott’s Emulsion puts the thin

get along by itself. No need
