Grand Juries In the Past Give Ex
pression About New Court House.
[Under this head the News and
Courant will publish from week to
week what the grand juries for
years hack have had to say'regard
ing the need of anew court house
for Bartow county. On the juries
were piominent citizens, whose
names are familiar as men of pub
lic spirit and superior intelligence.
Some of them have gone from
life’s scene of action, but their
names Jive in the memory of their
people.]
v'rom f.Hoseuuuents Graud Jury Ju,lv
lorm, ,SHu,
We have carefully considered
the question of building anew
court house and unanimously agree
to recommend that our worthy
commissioners take the necessary
j action as provided by law for sub
mitting the question of issuing
bonds of the county in a sum not
exceeding #30,000, bearing inter
est at a rate not exceeding live per
cent, per annum, payableone-sixrh
in five years, one-sixth in ten
yeais, oue-sixth in fifteen years
and three-sixths in twenty years,
interest payable annually, the pro
ceeds to be applied to the purchase
ol anew site and the building ot a
new court house, that this be done
as eariy as practicable. Also to
provide tor the raising of a sink
ing fund aud interest fund an
nually for the payment ot bonus
and interest thereon. By this
means aud the sale-of tne old
building we. can erect a building
in keeping* with the dignity and
standing ui toe county and give
the couit and the people a com
fortable place for tue transaction
of business. The county will save
more annually than the interest
charges 111 the economizing and
saving of the time now lost 111 try
ing to transact business in the old
building We would raise SISOO
! per annum, which would be on, -
twenty-fiftn of one per cent, or
less increase of taxation on pres
ent valuations, which will not be
felt by the tax payers and so dir -
trioute the cost as to be borne, so
gradually that no burden will be
placed on the people. The pay
ments will be so distributed for
tne future years that the incoming
generations can bear its propoi
tion of the cost and we will at once
enter upon the enjoyment of the
much needed court house, and we
therelore hope that our worthy
county commissioners will take
immediate action and submit the
action to the people.
To the presentments containing
the above recommendation are at
tached the names of the following
jurors:
Reuben W. Satterfield, foreman;
John D. Murchison, Albert C.
Shelton, Jefferson R. Brandon,
William H. Baker, Robert L. Rog
ers, Peter Hammond, William
Walton, Abram Goode, Joseph
Bradley, S. L. Bavless, Simpson
Donahoo, Benj. F. Pettit, John
Collins, James L,. Luther.
What a splendid type of tireless
activity is th-r sun as the psalmist
describes it issuing like “a bride
groom from bis chamber and re
joicing like a strong man to run a
race.” Every man ought to rise in
the morning refreshed by slumber,
and renewed by rest, eager for the
struggle of the day But how
rarely this is so. Most peopie rise
still unrefreshed, and dreading the
strain of the day’s labors. The
cause of this is deficient supplv of
pure, rich blood,and an inadequate
nourishment of the body. There
is nothing that will give a man
strength and energy, as will Dr.
Pierce’s Golden Medical Discovery.
It does this by increasing thequan
tit\ and quality of the blood sup
ply. 'l'llis nourishes the nerves,
feeds the brain,builds up enfeebled
organs, and gives that sense of
strength and power which makes
the struggle of Hie a joy. “ The
' good feeling” which follows the
use of “Golden Medical Discovery”
is not dti * to stimulation as it con
tains no alcohol, whiskey or other
intoxicant. It does not brace up
the body, but builds it up in r o a
condition of sound health.

Recent investigations by the authorities of severe! States have at
tracted attention to proprietary medicines, and there Isa marked dispo
sition to draw a sharp line of distinction between mysterious nostrums
and worthy articies of scientific compound and known character.
“Many proprietary medicines,” says a leading fft&X
physician, “are the best possible prescriptions for the 4?VaJ*
diseases which they are made to cure. It is certainly Q
anSy reasonable to expect that chemists —),
world-wide reputation and unlimited re
sources ought to make compounds with excep- /
tional skill, and it is manifestly to their in- I
terest to have their ingredients fresh and J\ ; g'-f gM:i
pure. Take, for example, Lippman’s. great £
remedy, popularly known as P. P. P. J^c I
The formula is on every bottle. Every J
pliysician knows that the ingredients are
the best possible remedies for purify- hlivkjr /
ing the blood, and the compound is /
a scientific one, which increases the tmljm I
sfficiency of the whole. I some- JmeM /bSSL i

Affections, Catarrh, Eczema and other
complaints arising from impure and weak <2?~~ Ü—
blood, but I always feel safest in prescribing P. P. P., especially where
lam not personally acquainted with the druggist. In prescribing
P. P. P. (Lippman’s Great Remedy), 1 know I am taking no chances.”
; When doctors feel such confidence in a standard remedy, it 1*
no wonder that the general public insist upon having It. •
P. P. P. is sold by all druggists. $1 a bottle; six bottles, $5.
