A Breezy Correspondence From
this Locality.
Did I say news? There is none.
Everything is “calm and serene,”
as Bill says, in our little villa.
Spring, as you all are aware,
has made its appearance again.
The broad wheat fields and
mountain tops are making beautv
in the distance, the singing birds
have come, bringing mirth and
gladness. The flowers at last
have made their appearance re
minding us again of the resurrect
ion of life after death.
Our regular monthly singing at
Cross Roads Sunday evening was
quite a success. As usual a good
attendance and the singing highly
enjoyed Delegates were elected
to the convention. The contest
last year at the singing con
vention was between Cedar Creek
and Cross Roads. They only beat
us two votes. We think we are
entitled to it next time and
we hope to be successful in getting
it, however, we will endeavor to do
our best, and will feel disappoint
ed if we are unsuccessful.
Whites will again ere long be up
to-date. The lumber is being
laid down for the new school
hou. e amd ere long the house will
be in course of construction.
Edg & Elrod hope to be up and
in business again before very long,
so you see Whites is one of the
coming.
Judging f rom indications, signs
and symptoms, I think cupid is
very much encouraged hereabouts
end to hear of some ones flying on
the wings of the morning would
be no surprise.
The farmers are a little behind
with their work owing to so much
rain but are rushing now and most
of them will in a few days be done
planting. But I will :aw off and
if this escapes the waste basket I
may come again.

her baby from the buggy inflicting
serious injury to both.

It is a strange time of the year
for parties but nevertheless there
is a place in this locality where
the foot can be heard tramping at
a late hour.
Farmers for the past few days
have been planting corn and cot

beautiful and if it continues by the
end of the present week the corn

To Everybody Interested in Buying Buggies,
We wish to announce than Ave have made a large coi
tract with the ANCHOR BUGGY CO. on a SPOT CASH if
SIS, and have received another car load’shipment. These Hi
Grade Buggies are to be sold at an amazing and unequivoe
Low Price. See them.
What prettier sight is a sight to behold,
'l' ban an Anchor Buggy, and a horse worth gold;
As vou go down the street in a mazing whirl,
Holding the reinc beside a beautiful girl.
Quality! Qualify! Quality!
Some items in the construction of this Bug
gy that tell the tale and are conclus.ve arguments
that the best is cheapest in the long run.
Ist. All wheels are strictly selected hicko
ry, with full screwed rims, screw on each side of
every spoke and with heavy round edge tire, of
carbon steel, so as not to get loose. See a sam
ple of these wheels and bring three of jour
friends so that all four of you can stand on the
rim and test it to the fullest txteut,
Axles.
2nd. All axles are of the finest steel forged
out, tan-iailed and swedged under the bottom.
LOOK! These axles are the Collinge Double
Collar, Long Distance Axle, guaranted to run
I.OOU miles. It is the highest priced and finest
on the market. NO DUST can get in box, and
is ground is oil and does run light—very light.
Try it. The Anchor Buggy.
Bodies.
3rd. Bodies on the Anchor Buggy are
made different from any other buggy body on
the market. Thev cost the lactory about $5.00
more to build them than does any other buggy
factory to build the regular kind. You ask,
What’s the difference? We answer, Call and
look at and see why the corners wont ever opeu,
why the floor is mortised in, why a center sill is
put iu, wby a crossbar sill is put in, why the
steps wont break up the floor, why the pitch is
higher and more comfortable than any other
make and why? why—Well just see Ihe Anchor
Buggy and you will understand.
Fifth Wheel,
4th. Fifth Wheel patented and used only
on the Anchor Buggy. It is the best as well as
the most expensive of all fifth wheels. Why?
Because it has steel connection, spooled and
tbimbled on four bearings, has extra safety at
tachment, has King Bolt running on rear of ax
le and guaranteed to never break under any kind
of strain—yon have to break six parts of it to
pull the buggy apart. Test the Buggy and the
fifth wheel on Anchor Buggies.
Painting.
sth. Painting—A poor and cheap Buggy
has from four to six coats of finish ; a good me
dium price buggy has from six to twelve coats
of finish; a fine Buggy, the Anchor has just six
teen coats of finioh, the highest quality—the fi
nest finish. You can shave by the mirror finish
of these buggy bodies. Try it. Nothing made
finer and pretty color, too The girls all like to
ride in the Anchor Buggies because they are
in keeping with their fresh beauty and pretty
Sunday dresses. Boys be iu it and take the
lead with an Anchor Buggy.
Leather and Trimmings.
6th. The leather and trimmings on the
Anchor Buggy are the finest quality. Leather
is guaranteed to be No. 1 oak tanned leather,
soft and pliable. The cushions have open bot
toms and are fitted with coil springs; like sitting
in a rocking chair to ride iu one of these Bug
gies. Put a cheap suit of clo hes on a man and
he looks bid ; just as good clothes set off a man,
so we set off the good qualities of an Anchor
Buggy with fine paint and fine leather trim
mings.

Wood that is good—

Dashes. )

Gears.
nth. All the gears have full length iroi
and are well drawn up. If you were to pay 01
thousand dollars for a buggy the joints in tl
gear couldn’t be put together any better tin
in the Anchor.
Clips.
12 h Count the clips. The Anchor has
clips on front axle—no other make of w<
has this many. Count them for yourself; figo

Rubber Steps.
14 h. This Buggy is fitted with ge" u '
Rubber Pad Steps, and has this advan'uj
when the weather is damp and slipp er >’ f,
foot is not liable to slip and strike your/'*
against the step, as the rubber catches the p "
sole, and holds it. besides this is a more f x i ie
sive article than is put on other makes, c
