\\ heat and oats is particularly
nice in this section this year, and
'Mr. John Padgett nnd Mr. Jasper
Wheeler have been quite busy for
several days past saving the grain.
We can truly boast of more wide
awake, painstaking and indus
trious farmers than most small
places, and if the weather is favor
able there will be very few fail
ures in crops here this year.
Mr. Pierce Dowell and family
visited the family of Mr. W. M.
Smith a few days the past week.
There is quite an attraction at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. 11. W.
Bryson in the form of an infant
daughter.
Mr. William Loveless and son,
Mr. Felton Loveless, of Carters
ville, visited the family of Mr. H,
A. Loveless, a brother of the for
mer last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Erwin, of near
Cartersville, visited their son, Mr.
Charlie Erwin last Sunday.
Mrs J no. L. Padgett, who has
been quite sick for several days, is
very much better.
Some of the girls would like to
know what made a certain young
man run so fast in the direction of
his home a few nights ago. Some
body said he thought he saw a
dead man lying on the roadside
When the matter was reported
and a searching party went out to
to investigate, the dead man
proved to be a suit of clothes
stuffed with newspapers. This is
probably a plan to teach the boys
to go home before dark and they
will not get frightened at such un
sightly apparitions.
Mr G. W. Lockridge has been
indisposed for several days but is
better at this wriing.

the friends of M. A. Hogarty of
Lexington, Kv., when they saw
he was turning yellow. His skin
slowly changed color, also his eyes,
and he suffered teiribly. His mal

treated by the best doctors, but
without benefit. Then he was ad
vised to try Electric Bitters, the
wonderful Stomach and Liver
remedy, and he writes: “After

Judge Hendrix and his two

Mrs James Pickard we are glad
to say is improving.
Mrs. W. C. Carlisle received a
package through the mail last
week, which upon opening found
the contents to be a horn frog. It
does not resemble the frog here,
it has horns and a rigid crustv
shell something very peculiar to
the people of this country.

The remains were laid to rest in

be dinner on the ground and a nice
time expected. Every body come

In Spite of Themselves.
No Noxious Doses No Weakening of

tive Cure for the lnqucr Habit
It is now generally known and un
derstood that Drunkenness is a disease

dote capable of neutralizing and eradi
cating this poison, and destroying the
craving for intoxicants. Sufferers
may now cure themselves at home
without publicity or of time from
business by this wonderful “HOME
GOLD CU KE” which has been perfect

is in no sense a nostrum but a specific
for this disease only, and is so skillful
ly devised and prepaied that it is thor
oughly soluble and pleasant to the
taste, so that it can he given in a cup
of tea or coffee without the knowledge
of the person taking it. Thousands of
drunkards have cured themselves with
this priceless remedy, and as many
more have been eured and made tem
perate men by having the “CURE” ad
ministered by loving friends and rela
tives without their knowledge in coffee
or tea, and believe to-day that they
discontinued drinking of their own
freewill. Do not wait. Do not be
