Yarbrough, of Miriam, was here this week serving on the jury. Prof. 0. P. Duggar, of Wbigham, was u pleasant caller at this office Saturday Mr. L. A. Free, of Cairo, was in town Saturday and dropped around to see us. The many friends of Rev. W. N. Ains worth were glad to see him here this week. Miss Hanna, of Thomaston.Ga., is the charming guest of the Misses O’Neal, on Shotwell street. Mr. J. L. Dickenson was over front Iron City Mouday shaking hands with friends and attending court. Hon. K. T. McLean, the worthy school commissioner of Thomas county, was here on business Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Bowen BelBher, with their niece, Miss Gladys Monger, have re turned from a visit to the North. Messrs. T. L. Wilder and W. A. Dol lar, two prominent citizens of Blowing Cave district, were pleasaut visitors to this office Tuesday. Mr. Martin Harrell, of the Pawnee neighborhood, was here on business the first of the week. Mr. Harrell is one of the most progressive farmers and oitl sens of his section. Sir Sara Potts, of Evansville, Ind.. is hero on a visit to relatives. Mr. Potts was. in Ids boyhood days, well known hire being the son of Mr. Thomas Pott-s one of the promiuenc early settlers of Gadsden county, Fla. CORINTH LOCALS. Prof. A. J. Davis visited at JakinSnn. djty, returning home Monday. Mr. James Francis Richardson and MUs Vers Kerr, of Iron City, were visit ors out this way on last 8unday. Mr. Cliff Miller accompanied Miss Or- rie Nowelt to Colquitt Saturday, enroute to her home at Cullman, Ga. Miss Hettie Gloyer, a beautiful and cultured young lady of Fitchburg, Ala., is spending this week with Miss Georgia Davis. She will re* urn home tomorrow. Quite a number of young people gath ered at the hospitable home of Mr. J. L. Barber on Saturday evening and indulg ed in the pleasures of social friyolltv un til the weeamall hours of night. Mr. J. B. L. Barber, who is teaching at Salefh. was at home and gave the entertainment complimentary to. his friends here. Mr. Brewster Faircloth.of Denser, was here Saturday and Sunday, the guest of Mr, J. The Australian 6how exhibited here Monday, the performance beginning at half past seven. Rev. Kmchen preached an excellent sermon at the Baptist church Suuday. Quite a large crowd was present. There are two or three hunters around here doing a good deal of shooting out in the woods, though they don’t bring in much game.
