Maxwell is placing the material on the ground for the erection of his new store. Work on the building will begin in a few days. According to rumor Brinson is to have a wedding in the very near future, or at least the matter has gained circulation hereabouts. We shall report tho affair mere fully after it has materialised. A delightful basket supper will be giv en at the public school house this even ing for the purposo of raising funds for supplying benches for^the school. The merchants are opening up their spring goods now and are expectingquite a large trade. Rev. Padrick preached an interesting and foroeful sermon at the Presbyterian ohuroh last Sunday night. Mr. Adam Brinson made a business trip to Bniubridge Tuesday morning, Mr.-Murrell and wife, of this place, left Sunday morning for South Carolina. Messrs. Winson Powell and J.m'S Miller are a little indisposed with la grip this week. The school at this place is progressing nioely under the efficient management of Prof. Dupree. There are about thir ty or forty pupils enrolled. We regret to learn of the death of Mrs. James Yqates who breathed her last on Saturday night, after suffering two or three years from consumption Her remains wero interred iu the ceme tery at Pilgrim’s Rost Monday. Be it ordained by the Mayor and A1 dermen of the City of Bainbridge in Council assembled, and it is hereby or dained by authority of the same: See. I That from and after the first day of May, 1901, it shall be unlawful fo the owner or occjpaut ot any property in the first ward «r. fire District of tbe City of Baitibridge, to keep, use. or main tain a surface closet, urinal, or place t< dump waste watei or sewage.
