Look people failv ill the eyes when yon speak to them or they spoak to you. Do not bluntly contradict any one. When the teacher has reaeher has reached the state where he needs no holp in Reaching then is the time for him to leave the school rotitn and let some one else till his place. It seems as if we have some that have readied that state as they do not care to gain any inforraa tion or give any. So n any of us neglect our duties more than we should. Aae not sins of omission as great as sms of commission win n they can be prevented by a few words or deeds ? How can any one idle away these precious moments and see ouo children growing up in ignorance ? So many people see our aud their children going down to de struction aud ruin, and still they will lift no warning hand to save them from their bad habits. There should be more attention given to our young .men of this day and time. Three girls are now grad uating from our high schools to one bo., and they are capturing all plao, s of honor. Teachers must keep up with the demand of the times in order to bi n g the children op in a way that v. ill be Inst for them, or cIrc be rele gated to the tear end in everlasting obscurity. This good way can onl) e found by attending meetings and reasoning with learned and experi enced teachers and people. An ex perienced teacher who does not care to help the inexperienced teanher and give him all tiie light he can is whol ly unfit for good work as a teacher. We wish to urge upon our teachers the need of thoroughness and defi niteness in their work and not keep your eye altogether on the small sura of money you are to receive. “Be your labor great or smajl, do it well or not at all.” Special preparations for the work of teac'iers should be required.
