That is an excellant suggestion of
J..dge Jno. O. Perry, of Newton, for
a reunion of the surviving members
of the Bainbridge Independents dur
ing tbe encampment of the Fourth
Ga. regiment liere next, month. There
was no finer company in the Confed
erate service than the Bainbridge In
dependents whose membership was
made up of the iower of our South
land. Judge Perry is one of the snr-
vivors of tiie one hundred members
of that grand old company and his
suggestion that they hold a reunion
on their old camp gronnd should be
acted upon at once. The 4th regi
ment will go into camp here on the
19th of June, on the old company's
ground, Gamp Campbell.
The original roll of the company
is in the possession of Capt. Ben. E.
Russell, ot this city. The surviving
members of the company, so far as
Judge Peny can now remember, are
as follows: ' ..
H. W. Gainey, Jas. Lewis,^Jas.
Sapp, Sam Crawford, John D. Har
rell, E. II. Smart, M. W. Bates, Geo.
GrifiSn, Jesse Griffin, L/0. Jackson,
Jim Woodward, John O. Perry, Wil
liam Gains, S. L. Belcher. D. K, But
ler, Thos. Adams, M. W. Harrell, B.
F. Colbert, B. E. Russell, Mortimer
Bates, Mitchell Griffin, Thos. J. Je
ter, R. F. Evans, Jas. Shaw, Byron
Trulock.
There are doubtless others who are
still living and in reach who would
attend.
Bainbridge should spend her best
effort to entertain the Combined
Teachers Institute of Decatur and
Miller Counties, which meets in this
oity beginning June lOlli and lasting
one week. Last year Decatur Coun
ty teachers met in Colquitt and if we
are to measure up the hospitality to
wards Miller county teachers as was
shown ours, we will have to get a
move on us. however we are sure that
tbe coming Institute will be the most
successful yet held, and it is our be-
leif that more interest is being taken
in educational matters than in many
years past.
Those who attended the picnic
and school closing at Attapulgus
last Friday pronounce it one of the
most delightful affairs they ever wit
nessed. It had been our intention
to attend but tbe superior court
which was then in session demanded
our presence, and we were thus rob
bed of a days pleasure.
Last Saturday, before leaving for Al
bany, Maj. Wooten and Capt. Hawes
went over the fair grounds and selected
the exact site for the locatiou of the en
campment. The major expresses him
self as highly pleased with the selection.
Our city officials and the military author
ities will uow begin arrangements, that
thejgrounds may be found in perfect or
der upon the arrival of the regiment.
Rey. \V. Stephens Tucker will preach
in the Preshytenan church tomorrow
morning aud night. Mr. Tucker is an
able and eloquent preacher and it is to
be hoped that a large congregation will
attend both services. He is not only an
eloquent preacher of the gospel, but a
man of rare learning and attractive per
sonality. The public is most cordially
inyited to these services.
People keep calling our attention to
the condition of Florida and Troupe
streets at their intersection near Mr. A.
L. Townsend's residence. We submit
that the matter should be referred to
the chairman of the Street Committee.
This vigilant officer would no doubt see
that the necessary improvements are
made.
Mr. R. G. Harts field, cashier ot the
P oples’ Bank expects to leave tomorrow
to join the Georgia Bankers Convention,
to be held at O.d Point Couifot, Va..
next week. The program will include
also New York and Buffalo, by chartered
steamer.

UAMPMWIT AS OAK ORSAXIlAtMX,
At a meeting held at their armory
the members of oompany G, Albany
Guards, decided to attend the en
campment of the Fourth regiment to
be held at Bainbridge next month.
The regiment, according to the
present schedule, will leave for
Bainbiidge on Tuesday, the 18th
proximo, and camp will be formally
opened on the morning ot the 19th,
About thirty-five member of oom
pany G have signified their Intention
of attending, and the number may
be still further increased. The route
selected lies over the Central road
to Arlington, and over the Georgia
Pine from that plaue to Bainbridge.
Company E will not attend the
encampment as an independent com
pany, though some of its members
will probably go along with com
pany G. Lieutenant Dennis Flem
ing will be in command of the Al
bany contingent during the' week
spent in camp, and no one doubts
that he will look after the interests
of the comply in an entirely ac
ceptable manner—Albany Herald.

Our, plan of shaving w ho oomplete
that we can prevent infection or inocu
lation. by so called noxious or poi.-ionous
grems. * These troubles are oftiiues con
tracted from one to the other by reason
of using the same razor or brush on every
body. Now how we prevent such troub
les we have a steriliser, a nickla plated
concern ip. which we always keep hot
boiling boiling water. We put a certain
quanity of Antiseptiola, then every bar
ber after shaving each customer places
his razor over the Sterilizer into tbe
boiling water, letting it remain for a few
minutes. After shaving we use a por
