Notice i** hereby given that I havetlii* 4»y designated the Bain-brume Search LlMOT. a weekly newapaper published in Kiiiiibridge. Ga.. hi* the medium for the publication of all legal advertise meet* eminatiog from the Sheriff’*office during the year 1901. .tan. 10th. 11101. A. w. FoRDHAM, Sheriff. OommisEi:r.er Stevens’ Visit. Uomrawsioner O. B. Stevens, of the atate agricultural department, made a brief visit to this city and county the first of the week. He came specially to see the tobacco in dustry of this county, which ban re cently attractled in* attention and, like all other visitors, was surprised •it the extent and importance of this great industry. It Igi* always been a matter of surmise that so little is known by the publtu, and especially bv the people of our owu state, of the greatness of Decatur county as an agricultural region, so peculiarly adapted to tlie growth of a variety ol products not successful elsewhere in our state. For variety' of pro ducts And adaptability to varied ag ricultural enterprises, Decatur coun ty stands with nit a rival iu this state or any other. This statement is made considerately and not in a boastful or extravagant spirit. Wnile there may be some counties iu the state wiiere a larger yield of cotton per acre is produced, there is a number of other crops which find v t‘ic peculiar condition of climate and soil here most suited to their devel opment and winch they do not find •elsewhere. Beside these, every other product grown elsewhere iu the south is successfully grown here. The N#w Court House. Editor Search Light: Will you please allow me a short space in your paper that I may give a little sketch of the opinion of the voters and taxpayers in our district con cerning the movomeul of the court house. I was born and raised in Decatur county and of course feel an interest in its welfare and progress and have for some time thought that some one might give his opinion publicly that would arouse some interest in the people, and at hist I have seen two articles on the subject that made me feel proud to know that other dis tricts iu old Decatur would arise and defend their right-*, and when 1 say “their rights,” I mean it in every sense of the word. The conit house and site is the property of Decatur county, was owned by our fore fathers and beired by us and we all look uppu it as such and have the right to call it ours. The only place in Balnbridge where we can feel at home when there, its tiie lovhust place to me around there.
