The men behind this move to estab lish this road through one ot the most resonreef-,1 regions of Gvorgi’a are thorough b sines* then and are not liable to make any mistakes.- Bainbridge is highly elated over the probability ot the early construction of the proposed road. Elsewhere in this issue will be found a dissolution notice of the part nership heretofore existing betw een Messrs. L. F. Patterson and T. A. Ausley, of this city. The business however will be conducted by Mr. Patterson just as before the associa tion of Mr. Ausley in the firm of the Bainbridge Brick Co. We have been unable to ascertain from Ausley what his intentions are for the future but it is hoped that he will re-engage in business in this place. Track laying on the G. F. & A. Ry. is going on towards Tallahassee from this end of the road. A eon struetion train has been placed on the road ou the east side of the river and the cross lieu and rail* are going down ui a hurry. Work on the iron bridge across Flint river i* progress ing satisfactorily and within a few months it will be ready for the trains to cross. The extension of the G. F. & A, Ry., lrom Arlington to Columbus, Ga., will be of material benefit to Bainbridge and a verv considerable factor in the development of the see tiou through which the road passes, A through line will thus be establish ed between Columbus and Tallahas see and thence to Carrabelle. Work is being rapidly pushed on the exten sion. Mr. E. A. Wimberley, of the fire department, informs us that he has succeeded in disposing of the old fire engine which was in use here prior to the use of the pvesent system. The engine was in good condition and brought $400.00. The sale was made to the fire department of Myers, Fla. Shipment was made Wednesday. The sudden death at Panacea, Fla., on July 29lh of Mr. Ed Love, of Quincy will he deeply regretted by his acq laintances in this county. Mr. Love was 76 years of age and was well preserved In mind and body, lie died of heart failure. He was a mail of prominence in hi* section and a consistent Christian gentleman. A descriptive pamphlet of the re sources and advantages of Decatur co inly would piove an eye-opener to people of all sections to which the paper might drilt. The people are fast becoming acquainted with the needs of the hour and we may expect more rapid strides in the future than has characterized the j ust. Rev. W. L.
