A dispatch from Columbus, O.,
-says thorn is a movement on foot
there to establish a national “Dutch
lent” society. A “Dutch treat,” as
everybody knows, is where every
fellow, pays for his own drinks. The
object of tiie society is to discourage
the custom of “treating.” It is said
that Dr. Talmage is one of the lead
ers of the movement. It was not
.generally kuown, by the way, that
Dr. Talmage ever “treated,” Dutch
or otherwise.

joined them with eager protestations
of itehghl at meeting his friend
again.
Me warmly shook both the hands
ef his comrade and asked a dozen

a pout, “Why, Mr. Choate, yon don’t
take any notice of me. - You haven’t
spoken a word to me yet. I really
believe you have forgotten me.”
“My dear inadatnc,” said Mr.
