Perry of Baker County in a recent contribution to the Albany Herald says In reference to hog raising. “I have used a remedy for disease in hogs, and as a preventive, which has proved successful up to now. I haye a fine herd of hogs, with no sign of disease among them, while mjt neighbors have lost many. I give the remedy below. It is simple and cheap. Any one of your readers who may wish can use it if they care to: “One ounce sulphuric acid and four ounces carbonate iron. Put bait gallon of water; mix well by shaking the vessel. Give two tablc- spooufnls of the mixture to ten hogs in slops twice a week. Increase the medicine at this ratio 3s the number of hogs increase. “I also use spirits of turpentine in medicating hogs—one gill mixed with a peck of shelled corn for ten hogs once a week. One pint to a bushel of shelled corn for forty or fifty head once a week. Of course, you only give these remedies in the sickly part of spring, or at any time wlieu llie swine seem to he diseased. “Surely the hog crop ought to be saved if possible.
