A disastrous fire Tuesday morning
■ last, before dav, totally destroyed the
shops of the Oak City Cooperage
'Company which are located near the
.Plant System tracks between the do-
.pot and tbeuity water works.
Tbo origin of the fire is unknown
and ns the hour was so late, the alarm
wasn’t made until it was too late for
the fire companies to do any thing be
yond checking iu spread. Several
negro bouses adjacent were also
burned.
The loss was only partially cover
ed by insurance. Nussbaum Bros.,
the proprietors will begin at onee to
rebuild the plant.
